Hello, I’m Cindy!
I am a French Canadian originally from Quebec City, living in Toronto for the last 15 years. I am a musician, a journalist and I love to travel. Most importantly, I realized early on that if i spend less, I could travel more
My love of travel started with a trip to New York City when I was in high school. I loved the big city and made it a mission to eventually see more of the United States. Of the places I wanted to see in the US, I was able to do so during several road trips and long weekend getaways later.
In 2003, I travelled to the United Kingdom with a friend for what became a life changing experience. Backpacking around England, Whales and Scotland for almost a month, including a stop at the legendary Glastonbury Festival, changed my life. It made me want to see the world!
As a musician, I was also able to travel a little bit because of touring. Notably on a 1 month long tour of Canada. From Charlottetown, PEI to Victoria, BC.
Sometimes we are just so busy with life, your obligations, money, work, etc… that we forget or neglect to take a break and take some personal time. Getting out of our routine, experiencing new things and discovering new places is a great way to do that. Taking short trips was a way for me to do more trips in a year and also not use too many vacation days with work. Right?!
Though it wasn’t a goal at first, I found that with some planning, I wasn’t spending as much money as I thought I would. Not necessarily on purpose but it became a habit to just plan properly and budget a little.
Here in my blog, I will share personal stories and give you some tips on how to save money but still travel, see and do everything you want to and have a good time! Of course, if you spend less, you can travel more often!
